Otakon 2014 Chalk Art Photos

I love Otakon, I really do. There, I’ve said it, and I am proud… PROUD I tell you! And what’s not to love? Endless cool costumes, a truly rocking Artist Alley that goes well into the evening and is an event unto itself, rows and rows of great stuff, and more programming than you can shake an Ocarina at.

This was my 6th Otakon appearance in the past 7 years and I always look forward to the show. You can see all of the previous murals, as well as other Anime themed work, in my Chalk Art Gallery.

As with previous years, I was asked to recreate their promotional art, this time with the theme of SPACE and drawn by the very talented Yusuke Kozaki. I settled in to my usual spot at the side of Artist Alley and went to work. During my three days I was able to see a lot of old friends, make a lot of new ones, and marvel at the atmosphere in Artist Alley, just like every year. 27 hours and two very painful fingers later I had the finished product that you see above.

As with most show appearances, I recorded a time lapse of the entire process which I hope to show soon. In the meantime, let me know what you think of the photos in the comments below.
